Close season
The fishing season on all Nene
Anglers waters runs from June 16 to March 14. No fishing from March 15 to June
15 inclusive.
Fishing
Fishing is only allowed from the
banks shown in the maps withing the app. All anglers must be in possession of
an Environment Agency rod licence. Be aware that water and riverbanks can be
dangerous and that you fish our club waters at your own risk.
Anglers are permitted to fish
with a maximum of two rods, regardless of how many rod licences they hold.
No fires or barbeques
Remember: breaking this rule
could result in us losing waters – and you losing your club book.
No litter
You must take home all litter in
your peg and adjacent bankside vegetation, including any litter left by others.
Remember that discarded fishing tackle – especially line - can be a danger to
wildlife.
No night fishing or camping
No night fishing permitted on any
Nene Anglers waters. Anglers may commence fishing one hour before sunrise
and must cease fishing one hour after sunset. No camping.
Return all fish
We operate a zero-fish-removal
policy. All fish must be returned promptly, alive and unharmed. This includes
eels. If you are weighing a specimen fish, you must use a pre-wetted weigh
sling and safely return the fish as soon as possible.
Keepnets
All keepnets must be of a
fish-friendly material, a minimum of three metres long and staked out correctly
to prevent damage and stress. No barbel, pike or carp in keepnets. Match
anglers must carry two keepnets – one for silver fish and one for larger specimens.
Landing nets
All anglers must be in possession
of a suitable landing net. Nets must be of 30in minimum for all specimen and
predator fishing including, but not limited to, pike, zander ,carp and barbel.
Gaffs or fish lip grippers (Boga) are not permitted.
Unhooking mats
Unhooking mats must always be
used for fish on the bank. Never place any fish on the ground or grass, even if
it appears soft and wet. All photography must be over an unhooking mat and
never standing up.
No dogs
This is at the request of
landowners - please respect the ruling.
Antisocial behaviour
All members are reminded that our
fishery rights are granted by the generosity of landowners. If damage is caused
to crops, fences or property, it could result in the loss of those rights.
Members are requested to report any vandalism or contravention of club rules
which can be done so via the app.
We don't mind people enjoying an
odd beer, or listening to the radio with the volume down low, but most anglers
prefer a bit of peace and quiet. So do nearby residents.
As a member of Nene Anglers you
are expected to behave as an ambassador for our club.
No day tickets
Club membership is limited and
highly desirable - we do not issue day tickets, however members will be
allocated 3 guest tickets per season at £10 per day session.
Season permit
The club is now running a new
system of electronic membership via the mobile app ‘ClubMate’.
Bailiffs and officials
You will from time to time meet a
club official and you may be requested to produce an EA rod licence and proof
of membership. Please do so - and treat them with respect. We operate a
zero-tolerance stance on this matter. Any offenders would be subject to a
membership ban.
All members are encouraged to act
as honorary bailiffs – especially if they suspect non-members are fishing our
waters. If requested by another member to produce proof of membership book or
EA rod licence, you must do so.
Parking
Always park your car in the areas
provided within the fishery. The club accepts no responsibility for any damage
or theft to vehicles.
Work parties
Members are encouraged to
participate in work parties, litter picking or support other events to keep our
fisheries in good condition.
Overhead power lines
For your own safety, no fishing
is allowed within 30 metres of any power lines.
Safety reminder
Water is dangerous and so are
slippery riverbanks, so always take care. Many of our waters are remote and you
may not be able to summon help if you get into difficulties. No fishing within
30 metres of overhead power lines.
Members fishing all Nene Anglers
club waters always do so at their own risk.
